iPhone Duo goes on sale October 23, 2026, with preorders from October 16. Many apps that haven't been updated for it run on the 7.6-inch inner display at a familiar iPhone size instead of filling the screen. Bible for Me shipped its iPhone Duo update on October 12, so it's ready for the open phone the first time you unfold it.
Read it like a book
Hold the Duo open sideways and switch the reader to page turns. The chapter opens as two facing pages, with the left page on one side of the fold and the right page on the other. The spine sits right on the crease, so the fold reads as the binding of a book instead of a line through the text. Pages turn with the same paper-like curl as on iPhone, and the drop cap, verse numbers, and your chosen theme carry over.
- Open Bible for Me on your iPhone Duo and unfold it.
- Go to More › Settings and set Page style to Page turn.
- Hold the phone open sideways and open any chapter from the Read tab. Swipe or tap the edge to turn the page.
The two-page spread is free for everyone. It isn't part of the Plus upgrade.
Study notes beside the chapter
On an iPhone, Study opens as a sheet that covers the text. On the Duo's inner display it opens as a column next to the chapter, so you can keep reading while you look something up. Tap a verse, choose Study, and the column shows the verse, a button to memorize it, a word study with the original Hebrew or Greek behind each English word (Strong's numbers, keyed to the KJV), and cross-references to related passages. Tap another verse and the column updates in place.

Listen while the text stays in view
Every chapter of the Bible is narrated, and on iPhone Duo the player docks under the text instead of taking over the screen. The verse being read is highlighted and the page follows along, so you can read and listen at the same time. Swipe the player down to tuck it into the mini player. When the phone is held sideways, the docked player keeps to one side of the fold so the pages stay clear.
Hannah narrates every chapter of the KJV, WEB, and ASV for free, plus the Bible in Basic English. Plus adds seven more voices (Nathan, Evelyn, Elliot, Grace, Michael, Emma, and George) and Immersive Audio, which puts music and the sounds of the scene under the narrator. Speeds run from 0.5x to 2x, and audio keeps playing with the phone folded shut in your pocket.

Today, plans, and settings in two columns
The rest of the app spreads out too. Today puts your greeting, verse of the day, and today's plan reading on one side and your daily practices and suggested passages on the other. Held sideways, plan cards line up two to a side, so none of them sits on the crease. Reading plans, Settings, Memorize, and your reading progress all use the extra width the same way, instead of stretching a phone screen across it.

There are more than 100 reading plans with daily devotionals, from three-day studies to the whole Bible in a year.
Closed, it's the iPhone app you know
The 5.4-inch outer display runs the same Bible for Me you'd see on any iPhone: the tab bar, the reader, Study as a sheet, and the full-screen player. Unfold the phone partway through a chapter and the same chapter is waiting on the big screen. Everything else works the same on both displays:
- Offline listening. Download a book once and it plays with no signal, even in airplane mode.
- CarPlay. Plug in or connect wirelessly and Bible for Me appears on the car's screen.
- Siri. Ask Siri to play a book, pick up where you left off, or open a chapter.
- 38 translations in 27 languages, including the KJV, WEB, and ASV with audio.
- No account and no ads. Your highlights, notes, and prayers stay on your phone and in your own iCloud.
One app for iPhone, iPhone Duo, and iPad
The same 1.7 update brought Bible for Me to iPad, and the iPad gets the same wide layouts as the Duo's inner display. It's one universal app, not a separate download for each device. Download it free on each one, and if you subscribe to Plus, the subscription works on every device signed in to your Apple Account. The Family plan covers up to six people.
What's free and what's in Plus
Free, with no account: reading in 38 translations, the two-page spread, Hannah's narration of every chapter, reading plans and daily devotionals, highlights and notes, the prayer journal, streaks, offline audio, and CarPlay. Bible for Me Plus adds seven more narrators, Immersive Audio, ten more reader themes, the sleep timer, unlimited verse memorization, answered-prayer tracking, and the giving tracker. Plus is $7.99 a month or $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, and the Family plan is $59.99 a year.
