38 translations. 27 languages. All offline.

Every translation below is built into Bible for Me and works without a connection. Switch any time with one tap; your place, highlights, and plans carry over. Three English translations are fully narrated.

All of these texts are public domain or openly licensed, which is what lets us include every one of them in the free app with no per-translation purchase. Where a text is New Testament only or partial, the table says so.

How translations work in the app

  • One tap to switch. Tap the translation badge at the top of the reader, or set a default in Settings. Your chapter, highlights, and plan progress stay put.
  • Read in one, listen in another. If you're reading a text-only translation and tap Listen, the app narrates the same chapter from your audio translation and shows both. Handy for hearing English while reading Spanish, or the reverse.
  • Original languages for study. The Hebrew (WLC) and Greek (Tischendorf) texts are included, and word study on any verse shows the Hebrew or Greek behind the English with Strong's definitions.
  • Search works in every translation, by reference or by word.

Why public-domain translations?

Modern copyrighted translations like the NIV, ESV, and NLT require licensing fees per app and often per user, which is one reason many Bible apps charge subscriptions or show ads. Bible for Me is built on public-domain and openly licensed texts so that all 38 translations can be free, bundled, and offline for everyone. The World English Bible in particular is a careful modern-English revision of the ASV, and it reads naturally out loud.
